There Be Dragons...
Hello there!
Hope you’re doing well!
Winter is still in full swing, and my writing has been going through a hibernation period as well. One benefit, though, is that this quieter season has given me the opportunity to read. I’ve read more in the past two months than I have in a long time. So far this year, I’ve finished four books, and I’m already working on a fifth… which rivals my completed reads for all of 2022. It’s been refreshing.
That doesn’t mean that I’ve taken a complete writing hiatus. I’m currently working on a submission for an anthology and have an idea for an online magazine, in addition to chipping away at my longer WIPs.
There Be Dragons Here
Speaking of writing, I have some exciting news. In January, I received the news that one of my short stories, “The Dragon of Twilight Glade,” was accepted into an anthology coming out later this year! I’ll share more details as they come available.
This story is based on childhood memories of a dragon that lived in my closet. (I promise you, it ate a pair of American Girl doll stockings once!)
In “The Dragon of Twilight Glade,” Young Elora must face her own dragon with the help of some magical forest friends who live beyond her closet. When the inhabitants of Twilight Glade are threatened by the dragon as well, they seek Elora’s help in defeating him. Will Elora succeed or will the dragon take over Twilight Glade? Only a few months to find out!
What About You?
Have you done any reading so far this year? If so, have any favorites or recommendations?
Until next time,
