Hi there!
Hope you are doing well and are enjoying the Christmas season! I love all of the extra time with family and friends this time of year. We have a lot of traditions—from celebrating St. Nicholas Day on December 6th to eating fish on Christmas Eve—and I enjoy sharing those longstanding traditions with my kids. What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?
The big writing news this month is that my second published story, “The Dark Ships,” will be published on Havok’s website on Thursday! Here are a few important details if you’d like to read it.
It’s being published on Thursday, December 15th here!
It’s only free on December 15th. Havok has first publishing rights, and they make it free for the first day of publication. After that, it’s only accessible with a subscription ($4.99 per year).
Please take a moment to comment. During December 15th, you can comment on the story without a subscription or account. (It may take a short while for the comment to show up due to moderation.) Your comments give me a shot at winning the reader’s choice award, so if you enjoy it, I’d appreciate you taking a second to let Havok know.
I hope you enjoy it!
In other news, I’ve finally caught up on The Rings of Power. Since I’m a huge fan of Tolkien, I was a nervous skeptic for a while. However, once my Tolkien-loving mom finished it and said that she enjoyed it, I finally gave it a shot.
Overall, I liked it. I have some questions about some of the deviations that I hope will be addressed in future seasons, but I currently intend to keep watching. Like Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings films, it wasn’t perfect, but I enjoyed it overall.
Have you watched it? If so, what are your thoughts?
I hope your Christmas and New Year are merry and bright!

I loved Rings of Power! The language felt very much like Tolkien. Yes, they changed some things... but I felt the storytelling was superb. I want to know more.
Can't wait to read your second published story!
How exciting! I will check it out.😊
